Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

I received a letter on 7/22/10 stating that I owe Sprint $158.37. When I called they said it was actually for a Nextel charge for an early termination fee. While I did use Nextel once years ago I certainly don't know about any early termination. This goes back several years and I have no records on this. Is there a statute of limitations on this in NJ?
