Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey
Received summons regarding old credit card bill
I live in NJ. I was just recently served with a summons from the collection agengy, CACH, LLC, regarding an old credit credit card account I had back in 2003. The credit card was originally with Bank of America who sold it to CACH,LLC around 2006. Now when this card went to collection I owed no more than $1,000 now the complaint is stating I owe $5,600!!!! I do not want a judgment put on me, but I can't pay that amount...What can i do. PLEASE HELP!!!! Not sure an attorney in the NJ area is willing to assist in this matter.
