Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

Want to settle small collection on credit report

I have a $140 collection from 2004 on my Experian and TransUnion credit report which I would like to have removed. I don't mind paying it in full, I just want to get it off my report without admitting liability etc. through a paid for deletion.

It's for a medical bill, and I have never been contacted by this collection agency, nor have I contacted them. I do not know what the $140 was for or why my insurance didn't cover it.

I'm looking for some advice and a lawyer to deal with this, thanks.

Re: Want to settle small collection on credit report

I usually tell people to call up the provider and explain the situation. It is quite common. I suggest to people that they ask them to remove it if you pay in full and to get this in writing before they do anything.

Getting a lawyer could cost you much more than the $140 you owe. I'd be happy to help you, but you may want to try the above and see what they say before you hire myself or anyone else.
