Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey
Being Sued by Creditor
I have a number of credit cards with which i am past due on the accounts..years past due. I recieved a letter saying that i am being sued by one of the creditors. Ive recieved letters like this before and just ignored them but this one scares me because its from the Essex County Courthouse and I have a certified letter waiting for me at the post office...What should I do? What will happen if I ignore it?

First, if you just ignore it, they will get a default judgment against you. If the amount is significant, I would get an attorney to work with them so either get it thrown out or get the amount down as much as possible. I frequently handle these matters for numerous clients, so feel free to call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your situation. My initial consultations are always free.

I have read what the other attorney has written.
You need a lawyer. Hire one right now. Find someone who has at least some experience defending people who owe money.
If you would like, give me a call; I am in northern New Jersey; a brief telephone consultation will be free.
