Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

I'm being sued by Pressler & Pressler for a Washington Mutual credit card debt. Do I have to answer their interrogatories & can I settle with Chase bank since there's no more Wamu? Thanks.

Don't settle with anyone except the creditor's attorney. If you try that, you may find that your money is going to pay some other debt that you owe and it still won't get rid of the suit. /p/ You have to answer the interrogatories independently from any settlement unless you settle first. So, if you have something that you would like to propose to creditor's attorney, call them. /p/ See also: http://info.corbettlaw.net/lawguru.htm
