Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey
I want to know what i can do if i have unpaid tickets in NJ and still have no way to pay them as i am currently in a shelter for abused women in another state. what is NJ policy for those situtations.

If the tickets remain unpaid (and you do not contact the Court) a warrant can be issued for you arrest and/or the Court can issue an order essentially suspending your New Jersey Driver's license, assuming that you have one. Eventually it could be suspended in another state, if that state is part of the inter State compact, which I believe includes Pennsylvania. What you need to do is contact the Court and let them know the situation. You should address a letter to the Judge. However, you should probably request a Court date advising that you need to address the Court concerning your financial and obviously personal issues that are occurring in your life. The unpaid tickets will not go away. You need to do it as soon as possible or have a lawyer do it for you. what are the tickets for?
