Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey
How to get a verbal loan paid.
During our 5 yr relationship I have lent my boyfriend a lot of money. I can only get copies of some things I charged on my credit card like his car repairs, his daughter's dental bills, his child support payments etc. I am divorced with 3 kids, I do not have that sort of money to GIVE him, we've always talked about him paying me back. He left me a voicemail saying I don't have to worry about the money, he won't ''stick me with it''. Will I be able to prove my case in court?

This happens all the time. I would see an attorney if you do have any money for one. However, I'm sure that he or she will tell you that this will be considered a gift as there was no contract or note signed here. You may be out of luck.

Mr. Henninger is probably correct. I would add that there may be some utility in your having a recording of the voicemail.
