Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey
Writ of execution on personal property
I just received a writ of execution of personal property for an old credit card that i defaulted on. I am not able to pay in full, can I make a payment plan with the Court Officer?

The Court Officer is not required to agree to a payment plan and would probably be violating the terms of the writ if he permitted you to pay over an extended period. However, if you can pay within a reasonably short period such that it would be less work to accept your payments than to seize property and garnish wages, you might be able to work something out. Ask.
