Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
2009 and arrested for a false speeding ticket issued in 1999.
My friend was arrested due to a
warrant for an unpaid speeding
ticket in 1999. According to the
Elizabeth Violation Bureau and NJ
State License Bureau, his record
was clean. He spent the night in
jail, went to court the following
morning and was release with a
simple sorry our mistake. Does he
have a possible case? What steps
does he need to take to pursue
this?

He MAY have a claim against the municipality where he was arrested and possibly against other government agencies. There are a lot of potential pitfalls in a false arrest claim. He really should discuss it with an attorney. If he wants to discuss it with me, he should call 877/688/3879.
