Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
2C 29 3A(7) False ID
I was in a car accident in NJ, (I wasn't driving) then I was asked for an ID, however, I provided the cop a false ID (fake Alien Resident Card) and reassure him that it was real. Hence, I was issued a ticket in violation of charge 2C 29 3A(7).
I'd been summoned to appear in court.
My questions are what are the consequences that I could face?,
Is it just a misdemeanor with a fine, and if so how much would be the ticket?
What should say in court in my defense?
I'll appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

This is not a joke. You are facing jail time. You need to hire a criminal defense attorney to represent you. This can end up as a criminal conviction on your record. I can be reached at 201\646\9600.
Re: 2C 29 3A(7) False ID
The charge is hindering apprehension. It is an offense one degree below the offense for which you are supposed to be acting to avoid apprehension. If the offense was a fourth degree crime or less it is a disorder person offense punishable by up to six months in jail. You should have an attorney when you go to court.
