Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
2C:12-1. Assault
I was charged with 2C:12-1. Assault. Long story short I head butted a night club bouncer who we'd been arguing with and came at me in an aggressive manner. I felt in personal danger at the time.
I'm over here on an internship and have no previous convictions either here or in my own country.
What options are open to me and is it likely I'll be deported?

You have been charged with a misdemeanor level offense, so, in a worst case scenario, it is unlikely you will be deported if you are convicted.
However, it sounds like you have potential defenses to the charge against you.
