I would never recommend that someone go to court on a criminal charge without a lawyer. You are facing high fines, community service, possible jail time. and having a criminal record for five years until you can try and expunge it. You likely will not go to jail if it is a first offense. Please contact me after August 27 to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for just talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

Today, many many companies do record checks on new employees. CVS does. Banks, insurance companies, computer related firms, financial services companies are requred by law

not to hire someone with a felong conviction or any sort of theft conviction, including shoplifting.

The fine on a first offense shoplifting will be no more than $200.00 and probation or jail are not

a likely sentence on a first offense. The probleim is that finding a decent job may become impossible with a shoplifting conviction. A shoplifting conviction must be avoided and there are ways of accomplishing this, even if you are guilty.

Call me if you like.
