what happens when a 15 yo child recants his testamony in a 2 degree child endangerment case

Well I am sure that the defendant has an attorney. If he/she doesn't, there is something wrong here. This question should be directed to the attorney.

I would need to know what role the 15 year old plays in this scenario, is he the alleged victim or just a witness? Either way, the prosecutor would want to find out why they're recanting and make a decision how to proceed after the interview. It could result in a dismissal of the charges, but on the other hand the prosecutor may feel they are able to proceed without the testimony.
