Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

my 15 yo son said "im going to kill you" to a girl after she missed a shot and they lost a volleyball game in school. He was told to stop the talk by the teacher. Later in the day he was called to the office and has been suspended for making teroristic threats, taken to the police station and processed for the same. what are my options?

It sounds like there is more to the story - schools usually don't send students to the police statement for a single excited statement. Was he charged by the police? If there are criminal charges pending you need to retain a criminal attorney, if you can afford one. If he was charged he will have to appear before a judge and face possible penalties. He should not make any statements to the police or anyone else until you consult with an attorney.

If it happened exactly like that, this is ridiculous and you should fight it.

I suspect that it did not happen just like that.

You want to talk to a lawyer near you who can handle such a thing. I am very far away.

Good luck with this. You need to know what really happened, then you need a lawyer.

There are no options. You have one option, to hire an attorney for him. I agree that it is bizzare that one such comment could lead to a criminal charge. What is the full context of the comment? Call me, if you like.
