Not guilty. That one charge is a felony charge. You should get an attorney ASAP to go to court on the 23rd. I practice in every court in NJ so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.

Re: 21 yr old male arrested for shoplifting

If you hire an attorney right away most court will not make you appear for your first court date. This is where the judge read the charges and enters a not guilty plea for you and tells you to hire an attorney. I handle shoplifting cases on a regular basis.the conspiracy makes your charge a felony. If you have no prior criminal record it may get downgraded back to municipal court. That can be good and bad at the same time. If it stays as a felony and you have no record you may qualify for pti. Please call my office so I can explain its a lot to write down, but there are many ways to go about it.
