Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Aggravated Assult w/weapon

Legal licensed gun for 16 years; several years ago dispute with neighbor cops arrived no dice - no arrests neighbor false allegations; can't tell the cops on the scene what color the weapon was nothing; several days pass a detective bullys and threatens me to turn myself in with the weapon. Turns out there is a warrant and I am being charged. I am processed - in the middle of buying a home - so have no home or clear my name then what a choice; plead guilty to something I didn't even do. Pissed me off so off to school - paralegal program. I want to reopen my case and sue OR clear my name and record. After what I have learned thus far and all my years of legal experience I should have known better. I am writing a paper on my experience and I will put it out there and to the newspapers - there is so much more to tell. I have a criminal record now. I am a female, never had a brush with the law, perfect drivers license, college, gainful employment - can anyone help? I am limited on ''characters'' so I do apologize for the grammer...thank you.

Re: Aggravated Assult w/weapon

If this happened five years ago or less, then you may be able to do a specific type of appeal called a Post Conviction Relief Petition. If it happened over ten years ago, then you may be eligible to apply for an expungement of your conviction. If you would like to discuss either of these in more detail, please call me. Thank you.
