Arrest without seeing a judge?
In the state of NJ, how long can a person be in jail before seeing a judge to have bail set?

It depends upon the circumstance. For
example where the charge is serious
bail might be set for a week so that
some investigation of the defendant
could be done.

Keep in mind that a judge may review your bail without actually seeing you. They really should see you, but then again, courts should do a lot of things.
