Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

I was arrested and charged with obstruction and resisting arrest, which neither are true. I was at Ozzfest in the parking lot when a fight broke out. A friend of mine was there and it was her 22 year old son who was involved in the fight. She drug her son out of the fight by the seat of his pants and away from the fight, the officer on the scene went after my friend and hit her with her baton. I simple stated that it was not necessary for her to hit my friend as she did nothing wrong. Another officer claimed that I called the officer involved the "N" word, which I never use it is not even in my vocabulary, with that being said they said they were taking me in, I then walked unassisted and of my own free will to the police van where I was cufffed. I am 5'1" and 260lbs, the officer told me to get in and would not even assist me she said she didn't care if I crawled or rolled in there i just needed to get "my fat ass" in the van. This was after the officer called me a "fat bitch" three times. I now have a summons to appear in court on obstruction and resisting arrest charges. Do I need to take a lawyer with me?

It sure sounds like you need a lawyer. The facts alone would be enough for me to want to have a lawyer intervene on my behalf. The charges are violations of the New Jersey criminal code and could result in jail time, heavy fines, and having a criminal record. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.
