Re: Arson charge
Each case is different, but in general the maximum sentence on a second degree charge is ten years in state prison. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to this in various courts in New Jersey in the past. I would like to discuss this case with you in more detail. Please contact me to discuss this. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

Re: Arson charge
By definition as a second degree crime his charge has a maximum period of imprisonment of ten years and a mandatory presumption of incarceration, meaning that he must be sentenced to serve a term in prison upon conviction.
The nature of the facts of his charge may allow for a disposition involving a conviction for a less serious crime or even an acquital. A thorough review of the facts of his case with an attorney is required to give you an answer that gives you a better idea of what the charges may lead to.
Call me if you like.
