Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

assualt

I have been accused of assualting someone and i did not do this. i received a summons the next day saying i punched them repeatedly they fell and i continued to punch them. i do not have any counsel I will just tell what happened. and thats it. i know i did not do this. i know this person is just being mean. its an older person. infact we were friends. just wanted to know what could happen even when you are innocent of what you are being accused of. my son and this lady were very close to each other. she was like his grandmother. and this has to do with changes in their friendship. on her part that he did not understand. and had him upset about it. he will be in court with me. i have never been in trouble with the law. i work with seniors on my job. i have character letters from my supervisor as well as my superintedant where the both of us live. me and the lady. i will tell the truth and thats all i will do. i do not have a lawyer. i did not do anything to her. what happens at these kinds of hearings?

Re: assualt

You are accusecd of beating up an old lady - character references don't matter. The only thing that matters are how this is handled in court. You should strongly consider hiring a lawyer because at least potentially you are facing jail time on this case. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts in NJ in the past. I would like to discuss your case with you in more detail. Please contact me. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-

I would advise that you obtain the services of an attorney. Any defense that you may have must proved with testimony of witnesses and documents.
