attacking past convictions
person was sentenced to 240 months because of his past, he is considered as a career offender i was told to attack his past charges and his sentence could be lowered is this true and how do i go about it

The advice works in theory. Attacking the conviction is usually based on being denied some fundamental constitutional right, such as due process of law or adequate assitance of counsel.
