background check

if an employer does background checks dating back only 7 years will i be ok if i was sentenced on oct.25, 2000..also if they ask have you been convicted of a felony in the past 7 years can i answer no

It has been more than 7 years since that time, so you should be ok if we are going by exact dates. However, you don't know if they are going by exact dates or just years, i.e. are they starting at 1-1-2000 or 1-1-2001?
