Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Bails bonds

I was arrested for in august 2005 on a assault charge and given a 50,000 bail and I paid a bond of 5,000 to be released. I did not commit this crime and proved it in court so the case was thrown out. My question is do I get my bond money back since I never should have been arrested in the first place, and the bond company got back their bond.

Re: Bails bonds

No, otherwise the bail bondsman would go out of business.

Re: Bails bonds

The $5,000.00 which you paid to the bondsman was his fee for bailing you out. You can not get that money back.

Re: Bails bonds

The $5000 is a fee paid for the release.
