Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
billing
Is there a statue on limitations for law firm to collect on outstanding bills? I have a case reguarding a minor which was dragged on by my lawyer (in my opinion, simply to pad the bill). The courts final decision was reached 5 years ago..

Re: billing
The answer is no. If they filed a complaint against you in court before the six (6) year statute of limitations, then you are still on the hook. Six years is the statute of limitations to sue on a contract here. However, if they have damaged your credit by doing this and you have other large bills that are affecting your credit. You may file for bankruptcy to discharge their bills and all of your other bills. But you must file before October 17 in order to avoid the new changes in the Bankruptcy Law. Call me 201-646-9799
