Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
My boyfriend had abused me physically, tried to scare me by pinching on my vagina and then abused me again(kept pushing me by grabbing my neck) so i would leave the room. Later as i tried leaving, he broke my car. I had tried talking to his family to get him and help me pay for my car damages, they would not help me (This is the second time he broke my car). I had gone back to my house and called the cops and explained them what exactly happened. They got me an emergency restraining order, charged with terrorist threats, sexual assault and couple other things. Now he has a warrant out for his arrest. I don't think putting him in jail is the solution or what i actually wanted. I only wanted him to get an anger management help and for him to pay me damages for my car. Is there any way, i can just take everything back? i don't want him to go to jail. He is only 22 years old(He lied to me about his age, what he does, his family, everything..) and hasn't even started his life. Please help me!

I have been an attorney for 26 years. I have helped many women who have been physically abused, as you have been. I am familiar with abuse situations, and no matter what the details, it is always ugly and painful.

Please keep in mind that my response is just a general comment on your question, and not legal advice. Your question and any response does NOT create an attorney-client relationship between you and this law firm. The exact details of your situation and things that you have not mentioned in your question can completely change the answer to your question. You can not rely upon what I have written, because I do not have all of the formation that I need to advise you, I only have the very small amount of information that you put into your question. For me to give you any legal advice, I would need for you to hire me to be your lawyer, and then we would need to discuss this in detail and go over the documents.
To get legal advice that you can rely on and use, please contact me directly. I would be happy to assist you.
Calll Women Against Abuse before you decide to drop any charges. These situations generally get worse, not better, amd you have to ask yourself why you think you deserve only someone who would abuse you. There is a lot of counseling that you need as much as this not-so-loving boyfriend.
