Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Boyfriend's ex fraudulently used credit card, stole prescription drugs

In July 2007, my boyfriend's ex used his credit card without asking and took the remainder of his prescription painkillers (approx. 20 pills) without his knowledge as well. At first she denied everything, but now admits to $85 worth of charges she ''intended'' to pay him back for and taking the Percocet because she ''had a migraine and needed something stronger than Tylenol.'' Twenty pills seems awfully strange for a migraine. She has posted both comments on a public MySpace blog. Can you tell me the statute of limitations for each incident and whether or not this blog could be used to prosecute her? Also, she has not named me on said blog, but has repeatedly said ''his new girlfriend'' has certain STDs. Recently, she even posted that she started the rumor months ago. Being that this is 100% false, would I be able to sue her for slander and/or defamation of character?

You need to go to the police regarding the credit card. If you sue her, what are your damages? I don't think you are going anywhere with that. You are better off filing harassment charges against. While you may have a weak case, it may get her to stop.
