Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Broadcasting my Address

I am currently involved in the legal process. I cannot disclose the exact nature of the case. WHen my situation began, the newspapers and the media turned the alleged sitution into a witch hunt, some newspapers and tv news programs released my home address placing me and my family in danger. Is this illegal? is there anyway i can file charges against the news and newspapers for printing, broadcasting, and making it available online. There recklessness has caused my name and address to apear on many hatesites that have threatend my life. What should i do???

Re: Broadcasting my Address

I have a good idea as to what your charges are. No, its public information and they have not defamed you or invaded your privacy in any way. It happens all of the time, just open your news paper. In fact, almost all people's addresses are given out, although the house number is sometimes left out.

I'm concerned that you did not trust your attorney's advice regarding this question or for some reason, you could not ask him. If this case is still pending, I'd like to talk to you about to make sure there is nothing being left out of the process. My consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340.

Good luck!

Your place of residence is not part of any right to privacy. You have no legal recourse against the news media. They have committed no crime.
