cashing a check

hi i work for a company that sent me a check i went to cash it at a check cashing place and it turned out to have a stop payment i didnt know that this was the cancelled check that i never received. know i finally found out that this was another check i didnt realize i cashed the same check before so know i am goin to go into the corporate security officee tommorow do i get in trouble for cashing a check that had a stop payment from a check cashing place.

You could get into trouble with the check cashing place because they may not believe that you did not know payment had been stopped on that check

which, apparently, was thought to be lost.
