I was charged with bad check in edison nj. If I pay the check before my court date, what happens?

You will have a better chance at having the charged dismissed, without a trial, because the complaining witness will have no real motivation to oppose a dismissal.

The paying of the bad check before court could act as a mitigating factor in sentencing on the charge if you are found guilty or plead guilty. In addition to this, it could possibly lead to a lessening of the charge by the prosecutor if he is inclined to do so. No matter what, I would advise you to make good on the check before going to court.
