Come someone be charged with a crim for lying that they went to college and that they were in the military?

College? I don't see how that would matter. But military, google fake military veteran and you'll learn a lot about what people do and what happens to them.

Lying is not necessarily a crime. What makes lying a crime is the fraudulent purpose of using the lie to obtain some benefit to which a person is not otherwise entitled.
