Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
I was charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct 3rd degree in Michigan. When I was 17 years old, my girlfriend was 14, (almost 15). The law had suspicion her and I were involved in sexual relations and I was questioned. Not knowing I was commiting a crime, I admitted having sex with her. I pled guilty to Attempted CSC 3rd degree. My question is, if this was to happen in New Jersey rather than Michigan, would I have been charged as an adult? Would I have been charged with a crime at all?

If she was over 13 and there was less than three year age difference between the two of you, you probably wouldn't have even been charged with a crime at all in NJ.
