Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

I was charged with 5 other defendants with possession of a gun, what will happen if knowone confesses ?

All 5 can be prosecuted separately and possibly all 5 convicted. But it is a difficult case to prove. If it was in the car the main case is against the owner or driver of the car.
