Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
Hello,
I was charged with NJSA 2C:20-11B(1) on September 8th. This is my first offense and I deeply regret something like this. I am only 19 years old and am still in college will this affect my attendance at school? I do not know what to do or how to handle the matter. I was suppose to
appear in court on September 20th, but it was moved to the later date of October 11. I also received two letters from two different law offices. One of them said they represented Rite Aid and the other a counsel for Rite Aid (I am not sure there is a difference), both asking for a sum of $150 each. Do I pay these or not? I am very confused and need assistance in this matter.

You need to hire an attorney to protect your ability to go into a profession and/or get a job.
Call me if you like.
This may affect your schooling if the school has an ethics board that investigates criminal charges against their students. If you are ocnvicted it could affect your future ability to get a job because you would have a criminal record. Regarding the $150 civil penalty you are only supposed to pay this once. Please contact my office for a free consultation to discuss your case in more detail. Thank you.
Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-
