Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
I have been charged with robbery of a cellphone by my ex-girlfriend. After a heated arguement she left the house where we reside and went to a neighbors house to call her mom to come get her. She returns with the police to move her belongings out which included the cellphone that she left. Now I am being charged with robbery of the cellphone which resulted in her leaving to use a neighbors phone. Can I be convicted or will the offer me a lesser charge deal? If so what will be my options? Also is there a chance to have this case dismissed?

If you have been charged with robbery then you need to be represented by a lawyer. You are facing jail time and having a criminal record, so do not try to go this alone. There is usually a possibility of a lesser deal, but each case is unique so I can't say if one would be offered in your case. I would have to review the evidence in your case before I could comment about whether there is a chance to get the case dismissed. Please call me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.
