Possession of less than fifty grams of marijuana is not a crime, but a disorderly persons offense. It is a quasi-criminal offense, meaning almost a criminal offense. You can answer in the negative, but you are really between a rock and a hard place because a prospective employer might not hire you if the conviction is discovered.
If you conviction is at least five years old you can apply to have it expunged.
Call me if you like.
