Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Conspiracy with intent to distrubute

Our apartment got raided cause my roommates where dealing drugs. They found drugs in there rooms, but none in mine. I had nothing to do with it. When our apartment got raided one of my roommates got scared when the detective told him hes looking at like 25 years in prision cause of the 2 ounces of cocaine and steroids in his room. He told the detectives that half of it was mine. I got charged with Conspiracy. He aplogized and said he will pay for my attorney fees. I didnt qualify for pti cause I got a conditioinal discharge about 5 years ago. My roommate is getting one year in the county. Can he tell the judge or the prosector the truth so my charges would be dismissed. If so would he get penilized for lieing on his statement? Please give me some helpful advice.

You need an attorney now! How will the prosecutor know if your friend is telling the truth? You need experienced counsel to examine the facts in detail to see what can be done.

You are facing 3 to 5 years in jail assuming this is a third degree case. You need to hire an attoney to review the facts behind this case. Maybe there was an illegal search, maybe someone is willing to say it was all his. This is a very serious charge.

I handle criminal drung cases all the time. I am a former state of NJ public defender. If you are interested in retaining my services, I can be reached at 201-646-9600.
