A conviction is final upon sentencing. The idea is that something might happen prior to sentencing whereby the conviction might be vacated.
If you are asking about the convictin date for purpose of expungement. The
period of time that must elapse before an expungement petition can be filed begins to run after the sentence has been served; probation has been served and all fines have been paid.
