Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Is a conviction of domestic violence a crime in New Jersey? There were no arrest/ probation/incarceration/violence nor evidence of such. The accussation was based on emails I sent to my spouse, none of the emails contained any threads, abusive language, vulgarity or anything that could be construed as a violence in nature, however I was found guilty by the court.I just paid a fine of $50 and a FRO was entered as final disposition. The FRO stated "No communication at all". The FRO was only against me and does/did not include ours kids.

There are many serious results from a Final Restraining Order, and you need to know what this means to you. Come in and see me, and we will go over it. No charge for the consultation. I will find out what your situation is, and tell you what options I see for you.

An FRO is a civil matter with criminal consequences if it is violated. Thus, there is no conviction.
