Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
three counts of 3rd degree
Me and my 2 friends were caugth robbing a house. Well not me because I was outside in the car and my 2 friends were in the bedroom with a lot of stuff on them. I never ran from the cop when i saw them, I signed a search warrant for them to search my car but they did not find anything stoling in it. They charged me with all 3rd degree conspiracy, attempted theft, and attempted burglary. But i was not in the house with them. I only went in the house to see what was taking them so long and i came right out. I am on pti, and they offered me & my 2 friends 364 in county. But i can't seem to do no time because am in Rutgers university in my 3rd year and i have a great job. My p.defender told me dat i might do 4 years if i lose trial, because my 2 friends plead and said i had something to do with it. In which the prosucutor my used against me. what do i do? Am also thinking that if a offer the people they tried to rob thier house some money to compromise for what happened that would help me. Can i still plead after guilty if the judged has signed a trail memo?
