Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

credit card fraud

a coworker of mine committed credit card fraud at work. she put 3,600 worth of credits onto her child support debit card. our bank processor caught it & called up to question the transactions. i'm the bookkeeper n this girl (who i treated like a daughter) came to me hysterical. she had a custody case with her sons grandmother coming up. i tried to help her. i covered 4 her on the phone with the processor. she coax me into saying it was a defective paper product n the customer wanted the money refunded to this cc. they said they had to reverse the charges. that is when i found out it was several charges & not an isolated incident. i was already lying so i said i would take care of it. told this coworked that i'm not losing my job over this. she said not to worry the money is back to the company & nothing will happen. she left the company a week or so later. a month n a half it all comes out & i report the theft to my boss. i never admitted i knew. i let this girl use my car and cell phone. today i get called up to police headqts and this girl is saying i was in on it. i admitted my knowledge & today my boss told me to resign or be fired. do i need a lawyer? should i take a lie detor test. this girl has a criminal justice degree.
