Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

a criminal charge

i had a conditional discharge in the state of nj. last year my friend got caught with a marijuana grinder in her car she was on a 180 day suspended sentence i was living at her house along with my 2 children. her mother called me from the police station and let me know the situation. if i wouldn't have agreed to take the charge i would have had no place to live with my children. After i moved out i discussed with the police on tapes the situation, but i still have a warrant. what can i do about it and what is the sentence if i get stuck with the charge

Re: a criminal charge

I'm a little confused about your situation. So you can't take a CD because you already have one? So now you are looking at this new charge, which may lead to jail time and the suspension of your drivers license. I suggest you get an attorney to work this out for you. First, you need to get the warrant taken care of. Second, you need a good attorney to fight this case as you are no longer a first offender so your options may be limited. In addition, I am not sure if you gave false information to the police or not, I would need more information about that as well.

My initial consultations are always free, so call me at 732/247/3340 to discuss your case.

If this is your second marijuana possession charge you can not get first offender treatment agains. Upon plead or being found guilty you will lose your driver's license for six months to twenty-four months; face a possible jail sentence of up to six months and various fines and penalties which can easily exceed $1,000.00.

Call me if you like.
