Clarification of a question asked on application. Question states '' Have you ever been arrested and /or convicted of a crime or an offense? If one was once arrested a long time ago but case was dismissd a short while later can you answer no to above question?Thank you.

My interpretation would be that you cannot answer now because the question asks about arrests, which you were, not just convictions, which you were not. The fact that a record is old does not mean that it goes away. I have recently handled expungements for both 1957 and 1967 matters.
