Deferred Disposition

When your put on different types of probation, there is a section called defferred disposition. What is deferred disposition? What are the specifications of which have to be followed when a person is place upon deferred disposition? And what could happen as a result of such a thing as if a minor who is placed on it is caught drinking at an underage party while they are placed on it?

A deferred disposition means that the case is put on hold for a certain period of time, and if the person to whom the deferred disposition applies stays out of trouble for that period, then his charges will be dismissed. If he is arrested on a another charge during the deferred disposition period, then the case becomes active again and he will be found guilty and sentenced for the crime that he was originally on a deferred disposition for. In other words, Stay out of trouble and the case gets dismissed and you have no criminal record, Get in trouble again and you have a criminal record.
