Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey
difficult case /car seized
on my arrest sheet,it says, in violation of cds or analog. what does analog mean also, i was not read my miranda rights, nor do i remember signing any card. if i did sign a card, would i have gotten a copy of it along with all the other paper work ? they seized my brand new, payed off, beautiful car.i heard from a few people, that the cops have been using the car. since my case is still pending, and i haven't received any legal documents about the seizure at all, can they legally be driving around in it?i was caught with $40 worth of crack cocaine & a stem. i never saw them test the drugs, for all i know,it could've been soap or something. i might have been ripped off. maybe that's what they mean by analog. if that were the case, could i even be charged with it?i've already been to court with a pd,which did absolutely nothing for me,so the judge did grant me 1 week to work things out. i need some immediate help in this matter. some good advice, please!a

An analog is a chemically identical synthetic version of the drug. You need to act fast on your car. They CAN do what they want until you stop them.

Re: difficult case /car seized
Analog just means a type of chemically manufactured drug. Possession of CDS (cocaine) is a third degree offense which carries up to 5 years in prison. Regarding the use of your car, this would have to be investigated since the police are not supposed to use your car unless they have gotten a court order seizing it. Regarding the drugs being tested, there are specific legal steps that need to be taken before they can introduce the drugs in evidence against you. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts throughout New Jersey in the past. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.
