Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Disorderly persons offense

I was accused of harassing another by text messaging on his cell phone and threatening him, also calling him on his cell phone to threaten him with bodily harm. All this is untrue of course! It was done in response to me filing a restraining order on him. I am sure that there is no proof, as it is untrue. Do I need a lawyer?

Only you can decide if you need a lawyer. I will tell you that this charge is a violation of the NJ criminal code and if you are convicted you will have a criminal record. The maximum penalties are up to six months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines, as well as mandatory other fines. I would have to see what evidence there is before I could give you a better idea how I could help you as a lawyer. I am an attorney who has handled many cases similar to yours in various courts throughout NJ in the past. Please contact me to discuss your case in more detail. Please contact me to discuss your case. I never charge for simply talking to a person about their case. Thank you.

Sincerely yours, -Ronald Aronds, Esq.-
