What dose 2c:33-2A(2) mean this is a down grade charge i got from 2C:24-4A I would like to know what this means,

It means that you will be pleading guilty to a disorderly persons offense. This still means you will have a criminal record. Did you already accept the offer? If yes, that is not a problem. You must remember to have an attorney file a petition to expunge your criminal record after 5 years. Savy Grant 201-646-9600

It means you caught a big break! You have moved from being charged in Superior Court with what is commonly known as a "felony" level charge, to municipal court with a "misdemeanor" level charge. In NJ we don't use those terms, but sometimes it helps to think of the charges like that. Your maximum penalty at this point if you were found guilty would be 6 months in jail and a $10000 fine, though jail time is rarely given in municipal court. You should still get a lawyer, since it sounds like the basis of the charges involves a serious situation.
