drug arrest

I was arrested for possesion of cockaine on aug 6th 2007, how long do they have before they either indict me or drop charges, also I retained a lawyer and cannot secure payment can he not provide me with legal services in the middle of my case

That is very odd. Your attorney should reach out to the AP on the case or file a motion. However, it seems you can't pay your attorney? I don't really understand the last part of your question. Feel free to email me to clarify.
