Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Drug Possession

I was arrested for a gram of weed

and a blunt wrap and got possession

of marijuana and paraphernalia.

What non criminal offenses can i get

these charges amended to? Is

loitering a criminal offense? Will a

conditional discharge cover both

charges or only one? What would you

expect the police to drop it to if i

ratted out an asshole dealer i know?

You cannot get them amended to a non criminal offense. Loitering to purchase drugs is a violation of the New Jersey Criminal Code. A conditional discharge can cover both these offense provide you are eligible for a conditional discharge. I don't know what the police will do if you tell them information about a drug dealer you know.
