drugs

Being with someone in a car in new jersey that had a once or more of heroin in the trunk , but the passenger not knowing about it, what does this mean for the passenger who already has preexsisting charges for having the substance(heroine) like this? What happens?

Unless what is in the trunk can be shown to have some connection to the passenger I do not see how the passenger can be convicted when the operator of the vehicle has total and complete and exclusive control of the locked car trunk.

Possession of heroin means potentially up to 5 years in state prison if you are convicted. However, as a passenger and not the owner or driver of the car, it is possible that the police may not charge you at all.
