Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

Expunging Record

I plead guilty to eluding the law and was accepted into the PTI (Pre-Trial Intervention) program in Hudson County New Jersey for the length of 1 year. I was instructed that 6 months after completion I can have the felony charge expunged from record. I would like to know what is the process to have something expunge and how the length of time it will take? Thank you

Re: Expunging Record

You should contact an attorney as soon as you become eligible. It generally takes about 3 months for an expungement to go through. Feel free to contact me. I will explain the entire process.

Re: Expunging Record

You need to file a complaint with proper forms and provide notice to various entities. A hearing date is then fixed and the Court considers your papers and any opposition before entering an appropriate order,

It foes take a few months but is well worth the tome and effort for most clients of ours.

You should consult with counsel to discuss your legal rights.

We have attorneys on staff who might be able to assist if you care to give us a call.
